Fed up with this newsgroup

Gee, that's a real email address that will go to one of the companies
that appeared from the ruins of PSINet after it imploded. I actually
used to work there at one time...

Can we make a tag line then: "The Ruby community - so nice we've even

Why do I keep thinking of Matt Maycocks coworkers one-liner...

Hahaha! Man, that was the first post in a while that actually made me
laugh out loud in front of my computer,

Um, am I supposed to get this? Is it a reference to
a commercial or something?

Hal,

Silence of the Lambs quote, I laughed.

(figured I'd answer since this thread has drifted back and forth through
more degrees of latitude than I've seen a thread in a while)

I for one like the Illias' of the internet, as long as you know who they
are. Makes for interesting threads like this one, breaks up the day,
and you can ignore it if you want.

Plus, who'd have ever thought the answer to a question on the Ruby-lang
list was "Silence of the Lambs".

Gary.

In one of the Silence of the Lambs films, Buffalo Bill the serial
killer makes his victims rub lotion into their skin so its soft for
him to wear as a bizarre suit he makes out of them. The literal quote
is "It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again".
Its used in a recent song named "Lotion" as well.

Ohh, OK. Haven't seen that in ages.

Maybe we should start a movie quotes page on RubyGarden (or... not).

    3.times { heels.click && assert(!places.any? {|x| x.like?(home)})

    snakes.why?

    slaves.each {|x| x.say "I am Spartacus!" }

    hills.alive!(music.sound)

    flag = true
    begin
      sam.play_it
      x = 0/0 if flag
    rescue
      flag = false
      retry
    end

Cheers,
Hal

As the (self-proclaimed) resident Casablanca buff, I feel compelled to point out that this is not a true movie quote. Though wildly popular, it does not occur in the film.

Glad I got that off my chest. Carry on. :wink:

hehe...
somehow I really like this one:

Well, why not :slight_smile:

Add your famous quotes here.

For inspiration, you might want to read the ultra-condensed movies:

self.send(she.having)

you << force

puts(self.name = "inigo montoya")
assert(self.father.murderer == you)

Maybe it was a Woody Allen reference.

I'm new to Ruby, but does this work?

Ring.new( rule(:all), find(:all), bring(:all), Darkness.bind(:all) )
