Opinion please : newsgroup or mailing list

i subscribe to the ruby mailing list and also read the comp.lang.ruby
newsgroup. there is a lot of duplication.

my question is : if i had to choose one of these, which is more suited to an
absolute beginner as far as learning both by reading already posted messages
and by asking questions? is one more oriented toward experienced ruby
programmers and one more toward beginners?

thanks

The ML and NG are bidirectionally replicated. They are basically one and the
same.
