Ok, so is http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails a
different list than what I just subscribed to? (below)

Mailing list

The Ruby mailing list is probably the best way to get help on Ruby. The
people of this list are quick to respond, helpful and very friendly. To
subscribe send an email to ruby-talk-ctl@ruby-lang.org with the
following in the body of the message (not the subject):

subscribe Your-First-Name Your-Last-Name

Note: this is a high-traffic mailing list. You will get a lot of emails
a day.

Firstly, you want the Rails list at
http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails, and secondly you
want to stop using Comic Sans MS for emails. Send plain text, it gets
though lists better.

Yes, this list is for Ruby in general, the list I pointed you to is
for Rails specifically. You asked Rails questions, so your best bet is
to resend your email to the Rails list.

Yes, this is the general Ruby list (all about the Ruby language). That link is to the Ruby on Rails-specific mailing list, which is probably a better place for your questions.
