Am I allowed to post job openings here? I don't want to be rude. But I
do want to find ninjas. Please advise.

Wrong newsgroup. Try perhaps:

A reasonable command of japanese would be to your advantage ![]()

AFAIK there's no such limitations: http://rubyhacker.com/clrFAQ.html
I think you can prefix the subject with [OT] (off-topic) or [JOB],
that will be enough for people who not interested in this message to
skip it :))

This mailing list is about the Ruby language, not jobs. I for one would
prefer it not to get cluttered up with job adverts. There are plenty of
other places for you to publicise your positions. This is one of the few
places we have to discuss the Ruby language.

Sean

Got it. Thanks, all. I will reserve my posts for non-recruiting
purposes.

If it is a personally written unique post for a Ruby-specific job, then it
won't be a problem. But if it is a cookie-cutter recruiting post for tech
jobs, it will be spam filtered and you may get kicked off the list.
If recruiters are permitted to start posting to the list these conventions
will stop being used rather quickly I imagine.
If there isn't a rule against posting jobs there should be, as it can get
out of hand pretty fast.

I partially agree with you. But if recruiters will follow strict
guidelines, like prefixing openings with `[JOB]` it's quite easy to
setup your mailing filter to skip them.

True, but they will still be cluttering up the mailing list archives,
which are themselves a valuable resource.

Didn't thought about it. Must admit, I'm totally agree now.
