Windows 1.8.1 installer ready

rubyinstaller.sourceforge.net now has the latest installer, built for
Ruby 1.8.1.

New releases should be forthcoming. A team of volunteers is starting to
address some long-standing issues and feature requests.

While they are sprucing things up for the next release, enjoy the
current flavor of Ruby 1.8.1.

Great! Andrew.

Did you compiled with mod_ruby/eruby/mysql/ldap/openssl for mswin32/apache2
as well?

I would love to replace my PHP/MySQL with Ruby/MySQL for my web project.

Thanks in advance.

When running ri.bat on a Win2k system I get the following error:

4NT: C:\ruby\bin\ri.bat [6] Unknown command “T:\pp\ruby\installer\sourceforge\installer\stable\bin
ruby”

Running under straight cmd.exe I get this:

The system cannot find the drive specified.

In ri.bat are hardcoded paths to the T:\blab blah drive. I would assume
those either didn’t get updated before checking it, or the installer
was supposed to massage them and didn’t.

Yes, the paths are wrong in all the bat files. Andy wanted to get what he
had released as quickly as possible. We’ll fix this in the next update.

In the meantime, you can easily go in and fix the path in your installation.

The *.bat files in the ruby\bin directory have bad paths in them. You can
edit these file and correct the paths to match your install directory. We
will fix this in the next update.

As I did. I just thought he would want to know.
