I have seen a couple of posts recently that mention version 2 of Ruby. Is
there a central source of information for version 2?
I also wonder if help is needed on the project either developing or testing?
Thanks
John.

I believe there isn’t, or at least nobody was able to point me to it
My previous post summarizes some of the most important recent news
in ruby-lang, but it seems most of the information about Rite is hidden
under a pile of kanas and kanjis in ruby-dev (the Japanese list). The
only way to get fresh info in English seems to be pulling it from matz
![]()
Actually, we already know a number of things about Rite (those that matz
has posted here), but the rationale for the design decisions that have
already been taken (which I was asking for in my previous post) must be
at ruby-dev if anywhere.

You might want to spend a couple years learning nihongo to follow
ruby-dev
(babelfish doesn’t help much) and learn about the official
implementation, version 2.0. When it shows up in the CVS you’ll be able
to contribute.
OR you could also take a look at Cardinal, which will hopefully be a
complete re-implementation of Ruby running on Parrot.

It seems a parser for Ruby has just appeared in Parrot’s CVS tree ![]()
