Sean Russel has released a new version of REXML. This contains
most of the bug fixes of the 2.5.8 release. Get REXML([1]).

Hal Fulton has started a Ruby shop where you can buy items like
T-shirts and bumper stickers. 50% of all profits will go
towards the next international Ruby Conference in November

FXRuby 1.0.22
Lyle Johnson has released a new version of FXRuby. FXRuby is a
set of GUI bindings for the FOX([3]) GUI library. Get
FXRuby([4]).
GridFlow 0.7.2
Mathieu Bouchard has released a new version of GridFlow.
GridFlow is a multi-dimensional processing library for Ruby,
jMax and PureData, specialized in pictures and video. Get
GridFlow([5]).
CursWrap 0.2.1
Julian Snitow has released a new version of CursWrap. CursWrap
is a a high-level interface to the [n]Curses terminal I/O
library. Get CursWrap([6]).
Plugin engine snapshot
Idan Sofer has started work on a generic plugin engine that can
query, load, and resolve dependency conflicts. Get the plugin
engine([7]).
FreeRIDE 0.5 final
Curt Hibbs has announced that FreeRIDE 0.5 final has been
released. FreeRIDE aims to be a full-featured, first-class IDE
on a par with those available for other languages, with all the
best-of-breed features that you would expect in a high-end IDE.

INTERESTING THREADS
Hashes and Enumerable#each_with_index
Ryan Pavik brought up an old discussion about the relevance
Enumerable#each_with_index method from the point of view of a
Hash. Matz would like to address this but is unclear what to
call the method name. Some suggestions have been given in this
thread.
