Ruby is part of Mac OSX 10.2

Greetings,

I’ve just made a clean install of the latest MacOS X (10.2 aka Jaguar)
and the first thing that I did was of course to check that all the
rumors was true. So I launched a terminal, typed ‘ruby -v’ and got
’ruby 1.6.7 (2002-03-01) [powerpc-darwin6.0]’.

So yes, my hardrocking amigos, Ruby does indeed come preinstalled with
OSX now. Sweet.

As does python, too. Though the apple folks like Ruby a bit better.

Still no support for Quartz Tk/Tcl though. I did a ‘locate ruby’ and a
lot of it is there including stuff I had a hard time building. Looks
like they didn’t finish though.

We can always hope for software update to provide something.
