Ruby and e-mail marketing

Hello!

I want to do some e-mail marketing to the users of my shiny new Rails forum, but I have no idea where to start. Basically I want to integrate a “Subscribe to newsletter” checkbox on my forum’s signup page, followed by a neat, purist way of managing this list and sending out newsletters. I’d rather not resort to services such as Campaign Monitor.
