FXRuby-1.0.16, fox-1.0.28 and ruby 1.6.8 - cannot require "fox"

Hello all

ruby 1.6.8
fox-1.0.28
FXRuby-1.0.16

Cannot “require” fox:

leikind@leikind,~ >ruby -v
ruby 1.6.8 (2002-12-24) [i686-linux]
leikind@leikind,~ >ruby
require “fox”
-:1:in `require’: libFOX-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory - /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/i686-linux/fox.so (LoadError)
from -:1
leikind@leikind,~ >ls \
/usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/i686-linux/fox.so
/usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/i686-linux/fox.so

Any ideas?

You need to add /usr/local/lib to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. See the section
titled “Cannot load library” in the FXRuby installation instructions:

 http://www.fxruby.org/doc/build.html

Hope this helps,
