I wrote a url shortner called cliz, and I have released its version 0.0.1 here cliz | RubyGems.org | your community gem host , there is lot to improve though. Will code and release when time permits.
If some one is privacy aware and needs a url shortner, then one may use cliz. Cliz is static, that is there is no need for any rack to run it, one may serve it from github, gitlab pages or a server with reverse proxy like apache, nginx.
I would be happy if some one could report issues if they face any.
