XBase and Ruby

Hello all. I am a new to Ruby, and am looking for a way to read and modify
XBase database files (*.dbf) in a way similar to the Perl DBD:XBase module.
I would like to access the files as database records, instead of parsing it
as a flat file (which is possible, but makes it much more likely I’ll
corrupt the files in the process.) Does anything like this currently exist?

Thanks very much for your help.

If you’re on Windows - you should be able to use ODBC or maybe ADO to work
with the data. If ODBC, check out Ruby/ODBC - for ADO, use it through its
COM interfaces with the WIN32OLE Ruby module.

I don’t know if there’s a specific XBase module in Ruby. Could be.
