Trouble attempting to run tk under windows

Thank you Bob.
Do you know where I could get it? I am willing to reinstall ruby, if I need
to.

Thank you

Victor

I just looked at the zip file for that distro…that DLL is NOT in there.

The tk83.dll is not on my system. I searched the entire drive
unsuccessfully.

Hello Team,
I am trying to use tk for the first time by running the following simple
example found in “The Ruby Way”:

require 'tk’
root = TkRoot.new { title “Ex1” }
TkLabel.new(root) {
text 'Hello, World!'
pack { padx 15 ; pady 15; side ‘left’ }
}
Tk.mainloop

I get the following errors:

C:/ruby/lib/ruby/1.6/tk.rb:7:in ‘require’: 126: The specified module
could
not be found. - C:/ruby/lib/ruby/1.6/i586-mswin32/tcltklib.so
(LoadError)
from C:/ruby/lib/ruby/1.6/tk.rb:7
from tk01.rb:1:in 'required’
from tk01.rb:1

And:

"The dynamic link library tk83.dll could not be found in the specified
path

···

…"

My understanding was that for the windows version of ruby, tk was part of
the main install. But it looks like I am missing a dll.
Any help will be appreciated.

ruby version 1.6.7 (2002-03-01) [i586-mswin32]
MS Windows 2000 Professional

Thank you

Victor
