SciRuby is a project that aims to bring scientific computation to Ruby.
We're working on various libraries for that.

At the moment we're concentrating on numerical linear algebra (including
sparse matrices, which are already working) and visualization. I wish to
build a library similar to Pandas (from Python) based on NMatrix, but few
students seem interested in the idea.
If you want to suggest something, just send to our mailing list!
And if you guys know students that may be interested in it, please show
them the GSoC page from the Ruby Science Foundation:
