Hello People,
Is ruby forge http://rubyforge.org/ down?
Yes, see for example the RubyForge article on Wikipedia.

It's up but « Could Not Connect to Database ».
So, I think we have to wait.

Could be a long wait, since RubyForge was shut down almost a year ago.

Wait, two years. Is it really 2016 already?

Not in Australia. But be patient. It takes a while to trickle down....

Wouldn’t it make sense for rubyforge.org to perhaps redirect to rubygems.org/rubyforge, which is perhaps a page which explains what happened, when it happened, why it happened, etc?
Right now it’s just basically “Could not connect to database” which looks a bit odd.
Why the jerky tone? It's perfectly reasonable to suppose that Evan can
repoint the url to rubygems if prompted.

Sorry, I'm just in a grumpy mood, and tired of people asking questions

The second part of my response still stands, though. From the looks of it,
the domain will lapse on 2016-07-03T19:46:14Z (It'll be sad when
http://rake.rubyforge.org/ eventually goes away

I think Matthew was referring to the sadness of recognizing the passing of rake’s beloved and benevolent creator, Jim Weirich, not the actual fact of the website going down….

Why not use the alternative version at <http://docs.seattlerb.org/rake/>?

Oh. I apologise. I didn’t make the connection between Rake’s RubyForge
site and Jim, though of course I am aware of Jim’s great work on Rake.
My apologies again.

Wouldn’t it make sense to pay for this domain and get a redirect set up, rather than it becoming a crude pr0n site?
