I have been using VIM on mac/linux for a few years.
Not only for ruby, but for anything else even for Java development.
what IDE do you use for ruby? Just have interests to know.
Thanks

I am using VS Code with Ruby, Solargraph and endwise extensions. I
think RubyMine is better as a Ruby IDE but it is not free.

I used the old VIM for a long time but this year I decided to move to
Neovim due to the native LSP support. It works great for me.
I've seen some guys using Emacs with a very smart configuration but even
though I gave it a try I couldn't adapt.

I use Gladiator, an open-source IDE I wrote in Ruby for my own personal use
and as a fun experiment in learning how to build an IDE.
It's good enough for my needs, and I enjoy the challenge of adding more
features whenever the need arises.
Every senior Ruby software engineer should know how to build their own IDE
in Ruby.

I think that it is alive.
The stable version is 5.6.0 released on 2020.09.03.
Most of its plugins are useful and made it as a lightweight IDE.
The only one trouble with me is its ssh/sftp plugin in my daily work.
When I use it to login to newer version sshd, there is an algorithm
negotiation problem with it.
