Any update on the availability of the site? I miss it a lot.

Me too… as one can probably tell from my lame posts lately.

Another thing, if the main problem for the downtime is because of cost
issue, then I think some people will be quite willing to donate for
the upkeeping of the site. I know I would. Which bring another issue:

I’m sure that maintaining rubygarden is not cheap either and Dave has
been kind enough to provide us with a gratis service (a great one
too). Oh sure, we buy his book and he gets his royalties, but I don’t
feel right because his royalties is for his originality and efforts on
his book, not for giving us gratis services (which has has been
providing for at least 2 years, or more?)

So, has Ruby become big enough to require some sort of foundation for
supporting its developers? Perhaps Ruby Foundation, following the
trend of the Perl Foundation. Perhaps it will perform what Perl
foundation did during its inception: collecting and distributing
donation.

Me too. It was a great resource. I wrote to Colin several weeks back
offering to help, but never heard back…

If cost for the site is the issue, whomever manages this site, drop me an
email. I might be able to help out.
