Building ruby-1.8.0 using --enable-shared under FreeBSD 5.0 using GCC 3.3

okay.

Have you tried usng the port (/usr/ports/lang/ruby-devel) ?

I've no problems on FreeBSD 5.1 to build it with --enable-shared. But I
am using GCC 3.2.2.
