Mysql-ruby please help!

hi
i try to install mysql-ruby in that way:
ruby extconf.rb --with-mysql-dir=/usr/bin/mysql
–with-mysql-lib=/usr/lib/mysql
and i get the following error:
checking for mysql_query() in -lmysqlclient… no
checking for main() in -lm… no
checking for mysql_query() in -lmysqlclient… no
checking for main() in -lz… no
checking for mysql_query() in -lmysqlclient… no
checking for main() in -lsocket… no
checking for mysql_query() in -lmysqlclient… no
checking for main() in -lnsl… no
checking for mysql_query() in -lmysqlclient… no
i try to install it since 3 days please help if u can

Where's your libmysqlclient*.so file?

Well, that explains it, don’t you think? Go and install libmysqlclient,
that should solve this problem.

another problem is that i cant find a rpm for suse9.0 only for 8.2 will
this work together?
