Errr, not at all.

The user interface in OSX is drawn using Quartz2D. OpenGL is only used
by the QuartzCompositor, which combines windows content from all
applications and enable funky effects (drop-shadows, scaling,
translucency, etc…).

So the widgets you see are not 3D. They are just a bunch of 2D pixels
mixed together through an OpenGL pipeline to speed up the whole damn
thing a little bit.
