I’ve been looking/searching and can’t find any. Thanks.

My guess is that if you’re running Apache and you can compile it, then you
can probably use it.

Daniel.

Subject says it really.

Thanks,

It is customary to make some effort to solve your problem before you
come to the mailing list. It is also customary that you tell us what
you’ve done to solve the problem.

The Ruby mailing list is unusually friendly towards people’s questions. I
think this is a good thing. But you seem to want us to take you by the
hand.

Your first post shows that you hadn’t even typed “modruby” in google –
that’s what I did and I got the correct page on the first hit. I replied
anyways, and suggested that you ask the mod_ruby developers your question.

What did they tell you? What have you done to solve your problem? Did
the compile fail? What whas the error message?

Daniel.

If its something that you can attepmt a partial solution on. He simply
asked the question if anyone knows of windows binaries for mod_ruby. A
question I have been considering asking myself as I have had no luck
finding any myself.

Daniel, I don’t know how you think you have come across but to me you
are being downright rude.

In his first post he said he didn’t find any binaries for windows (xp
specifically). If you try using google to find any you won’t, I’ve tried
myself and I have seen a few hints to them including a few messages to
this list long ago.

There is a good chance that he is using a binary distro of Apache and
its also quite possible that he doesn’t have the means to build the
source himself.

Daniel, I don’t know how you think you have come across but to me you
are being downright rude.

I meant to be informative. If I came accross as rude, I offer my
sincerest apologies. I really didn’t mean to. I just felt that it was
reasonable to ask that some effort (like doing a google search) be
performed. But still, I didn’t mean to be rude.

The members of this list have been very nice and considerate to me and I
want to treat others equally well.

Thank you for letting me know that I came accross as rude. I don’t wish
to make anyone feel unwelcome.

Once again, I apologize if I unintentionally came accross like that.

Daniel.

I must apologize myself Daniel I was a touch harsher than I meant to be
and I know that you had only good intentions.

You are generally right about making some effort and you are definitly
right when it is in relation to doing something (like a “how do I do x
in ruby”).

If I may explain, part of why I considered that you where being rude was
your first reply seemed to suggest that you hadn’t considered that he
may have looked at the mod_ruby site for a windows binary and simply not
found it. You also appeared to believe that he had simply made no effort
to locate mod_ruby site. Your follow up, after he tried to clarify his
question was very critical and harsh in tone.

I know what you mean
