Gems install trouble

I'm having trouble with installing gems 0.8.1 on Ruby 1.8.2 (latest RC)

C:\temp\rubygems-0.8.1\> ruby install.rb
install.rb:139:in `chdir': No such file or directory - packages/sources
(Errno::ENOENT)

from install.rb:139:in `install_rb'

from install.rb:148

Any idea what's wrong?

And how do I then install the gems update?
