Are there any O'Reilly Ruby books on the horizon?

Dear Ruby Users,
Does anyone know if there are any Ruby books forthcoming
from O’Reilly anytime in the near future? Just curious. Thanks.

Are you aware of the Ruby in a Nutshell book?

Yes, I am aware of Ruby In A Nutshell but was looking for something
more tutorail in nature, like the Learning Perl book by Randal or
Programming Perl by Larry. Anything like those books, from O’Reilly.

There’s a Ruby Garden Wiki page that tracks Ruby book development; at the
very bottom is a list of books currently in progress or under development.

Different publisher and awful title, but Mark Slagell’s “Teach
yourself Ruby in 21 days” is a “tutorial-type-of” book targeted at
mostly beginners. I haven’t seen the two books that you mentioned, but
Mark’s paperback might be worth a look. (I most definitely enjoyed it
and it was the book that greatly helped me to get into Ruby – but
unlike many here, I do not have a perl/python/java background.)

Frankly, the Pickaxe Book (“Programming Ruby”, by Dave Thomas and Andy
Hunt) is what you are looking for. No, it’s not from O’Reilly; but
it’s every bit as good as the best books that fine house puts out; and
it’s the Ruby equivalent of O’Reilly’s “Programming Perl”. It’s right
up there with the Camel Book on my list of most enjoyable programming
language texts. If you’re not convinced, have a look at the online
version before you buy it.
