What is Tycho?
Tycho is (the beginnings of) a Linux PIM (Personal Information
Manager) written in (and scriptable in) Ruby.I hope that this is an unintended misstatement – is this
really a PIM for
Linux, or is it multi-platform?If you perceive Windows support to be important, I can pay
more attention to that.
I assume that you are using FXRuby, so the effort to support multiple
platforms would be almost nil. If you limit yourself to Linux, then you also
limit the pool of people that might be willing to contribute. I would
include any platform on which FXRuby runs and solicit help in testing on
platforms other than Linux.
One basic purpose of mine was to fill a perceived void (which doesn’t
exist on Windows, as Info Select fills it neatly).
Yeah, but Info Select is not open source. I can’t change it to fit my needs.
I have a license to Info Select 3, 4, and 5. After version 5 I stopped
upgrading because I have never used any of them longer than a couple weeks.
It just didn’t do what I wanted, but it was impressive enough that I kept
upgrading thinking that I might change my mind.
