Yes.
IMHO, ruby's objective is focused on the humble programmer. Surely, my
java/python/perl friends here outperforms my code in terms of speed. But,..
I perform well. My code is easy, clear, and was quickest to produce,
quickest to debug. My friends now are learning ruby as well. Surely with
that, I did perform well, right?
