FYI, they build beautifully without a problem on FreeBSD. I updated
the FreeBSD ports several hours ago so FreeBSD users can try them out
today!

Hi,
Hi,
Ruby-GNOME2-0.3.0 released.
Can it be built on windows (with cygwin and/or mingw32)?
Unfortunately, Win32 has not supported yet.
And I don’t have any skills on windows.
If you have knowhow about windows environment,
please help us.
I don’t really in this context. There is GTK+ 2.2.0 for windows though
http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32/
but I’m not really into gtk. I’m just interested in Ruby GUI options and
thought there might be windows support since you say
“Yes, Ruby-GNOME2 is a binding for Ruby that allows you to create
client-side GUI applications that are as platform independant as the ruby
code you wrote it in.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
on your front page. You might wanna consider being clearer there.

GTK is poorly supported under Windows. However, Dia has managed to implement
a half decent Windows version.
The following 1-year old mail shows some GTK frustation on Windows. Things
may have improved.

Sure. This is an issue of Ruby-GNOME2 itself.

It WILL be platform independant as GTK+. I’ll fix it.

Win support has been improved radically with Gtk2, same that Linux
framebuffer support.
Greets.
