RedCloth is a module for using Textile in Ruby. Textile is a text
format. A very simple text format. Another stab at making readable
text that can be converted to HTML.

As mentioned on the list earlier today, RedCloth is the ugly,
snaggle-toothed big brother of BlueCloth. Let’s just hope he’s not one
of those showboating big brothers who’s always scowling back at ya (no
matter how clever your barbs) and resorts to pinning your arm behind
your back in front of girls. And don’t go in the pool with the guy. He
always has to hold somebody under, his head placidly, smuggly bobbing about.

Buncha fixes in this release. Doubled the size of the test suite and,
in the process, uncovered some bugs. Bold and strong tags were
swapped. Sorry. Horizontal alignments of blocks were rather broken.
Tables are working like a fully-staffed iron smelt these days. Nested

tags are now escaped. So code blocks in
 are much, much
better all around.

And good day to you,

And for those of you so inclined:

gem --remote-install RedCloth

By the way, there is a new release of RubyGems coming soon…packed with
features. We’re just putting the finishing touches on now.
