My friends, I've got my act together now and a BitTorrent tracker up with some of the videos from OSCON. The two Least Surprised cartoons and the foxes video. And Quicktime in cases where my Quicktime encoding wasn't all muxxxored.
I'm curious what other recordings were done of the various talks. If you want to distribute on the tracker, let's do.
I really want to thank the FOSCON attendees. The OSCON hoopla wouldn't have happened without the noxious pheromones that we polluted the PDX::Atmosphere with on Thursday. I especially loved the people nesting up in the rafters. There was plenty of room in there, but it gave the illusion that we were beyond standing-room-only and had started stacking new structural levels to the room. Tranquility base, we're on our way to colonizing the ceiling!

Unfortuneately, while we at FOSCON had great podcasting dreams alas we did
not awake to fulfill them. Maybe this was all for the good because that
way our stories got bigger and bigger with each retelling.

They were trying to get to that cardboard spaceship thingy with the
wire-for-smoke engines that was above the stage.
why, you've already done so much, but I'm wondering if you'll be putting
up the "I suggest Ruby!" song? Can't get that one out of my head.

Awesome...'cept...I can't see it. I wish you Rubyist MacHeads would
remember us Linux guys occasionally...that's one thing about coming to
Rails and Ruby in general...y'all love the Quicktime.
Most of the time, mplayer can handle it, but the .mov files you posted
give it fits.
I'll have to bide my time and watch it from my wife's eMac, or borrow a
Windows box at work.
Dang! Me too! I've been humming that one all week.

Actually, _why initially did them on Linux and (I'm pretty sure) was using
mplayer when he was showing them. Some of us MacHeads complained that we
couldn't watch them under quicktime (sound, but now picture).... at any
rate, I'm sure _why has something that will play fine on Linux.

Thats a shame, I had hoped that those over here in Europe might get to
hear all the talks.

Dedi Hubbard sent me a recording of Wednesday night, which is now up on the tracker. She was kind enough to split it up into parts, so you can pick out the stuff you like. Anyway, both the uncut mp3 and the cutup playlist are there.
Thanks _why-
I loved you presentation at the foscon.

Are you sure that you can play "The Least Surprised - The Red Scared.mov" and "The Least Surprised - Time.now Is_a MagicTime.mov" on Linux with mplayer?
My mplayer is compiled with aac and I get:
$ mplayer The\ Least\ Surprised\ -\ The\ Red\ Scared.mov
MPlayer 1.0pre7-3.4.4 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team
...
85 Audio- & 196 Videocodecs
Spiele The Least Surprised - The Red Scared.mov

When I play it on Windows with Quicktime and check the movie properties it says something about flash embedded into mov. So I am not surprised that mplayer can't play it.
Is there any copy of these sitting somewhere that doesn't require bit torrent?
I don't have access to a bt client from this machine... ( please please please )

I'll double check. I'm not at my Linux box right now.

An AVI of this cartoon is up now. This one's the very same that I played live with MPlayer on Linux.
I've downloaded the torrents of the MP3 files. I'm uploading them to my server right now and I will host them for a week or two so you can get em without bittorrent. Here you go: <http://yhrhosting.com/FOSCON_why_Songs.zip>
Enjoy!

Yeah I know. Thats the way _why put them up in the torrent as well. Too bad as that was my favorite song from foscon.
