Sorry everyone, sent the release for an old version instead of the new one. blushes
Now, instead, the real announcement:
Proudly announcing the new beta version 1.6/0.5.2 of JRuby.
JRuby http://jruby.sf.net is a pure Java implementation of the Ruby interpreter, being developed by a team lead by Jan Arne Petersen.
It is released under both the GPL and LGPL licenses.
JRuby is tightly integrated with Java to allow both to script any Java class and to embed the interpreter into any Java application.
Since the latest version 1.6/0.5.1 a lot has happened. All this is available in the new version 1.6/0.5.2, which is available at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=35413&release_id=114834
Note: JRuby is still BETA software. If it breaks you get to keep both pieces.
News in 0.5.2:
* LGPL license added
* New Java-support implementation and APIs
* BSF documentation
* Threading bug fixes
* Simplified command-line interface
* Marshaling improvements
* Lots of other bug fixes
Regards
The JRuby Team
