Starting with a new project

Hi everyone,

Since a few month ago I started developing with ruby but I'm still new in
this technology. Now, I have to start a new project which is a kind of
ecommerce and I decided to develop it with RoR.

Could you tell me some *approaches*, *recomendations* or give me some
*advices* for start in a correct way?

I would like to take this considerations from more experienced people.

Thanks,
Leonardo.

Hi Leo,

have you taken a look at Spree?

Best!

I had not looked for Spree because it's not only an ecommerce, it's really
a much more specific solution which is part of a group of projects.

I only said it's an ecommerce for giving you an idea of what kind of
projects it is, because you could have some specific advices/tricks for
this. But I really need advices for starting a new project from scratch.

Hi, I recommend you the books Agile Web Development with Rails 4 [1] and
Rails Tutorial [2] and also this course [3]

I think these are two useful and complementary books for starting with
rails, and also take a look to the rails guides [4] when working in your
project

If you haven't done this, then it would be a great place to start:
