Someone needs to be unsubscribed

Some guy at ibraheem@localhost(?) needs to be unsubscribed. I keep getting
bounces from his ISP everytime I post. Surely, everyone else is getting the
same?

I am.

I wonder if even the inventor C++ had C+±as-we-know-it in mind.

There are two kinds of fool. One says, “This is old, and therefore
good.”
And one says, “This is new, and therefore better.”

Surely it doesn’t need to be said anymore, but I still am. What’s happening
with this?

A good question. I used the very earliest C++ available (actually a
pre-processor for K&R C in the early '80s) and it bears little resemblance to
what is called C++ today. I think one would do well to confine oneself to a
very select subset of C++. One would do even better to use Obj-C instead.

Yep, me too, although I bet due to RubyConf/OOPSLA, it may be a little
longer yet…

Read the book “The Design and Evolution of C++”, written by the
inventor of C++. The answer is “mostly,” but he’s more or less happy
with it.
