Is anyone using the ruby_no_expensive ‘mode’ for vim syntax
highlighting? I’m thinking of either improving it or ripping it out -
hopefully the latter.
Thanks,
Doug

I’ve never heard of it.

hm…haven’t really decided what i like best:
let ruby_no_identifiers = 1
let ruby_no_expensive = 1
or
unlet! ruby_no_identifiers
unlet! ruby_no_expensive
the first has many merits, but almost everything is highlighted, and
that can be rather annoying. the second highlights a lot less, which
means it’s hard to tell differences between object variables and local.

I find the two options there counter-intuitive (most syntax items use if
exists(), not if !exists()), so I never knew about them.
However, I prefer having the context-sensitive highlighting.

latter.
