This looks to be digressing into a debate over the merits of extreme
programming. I think there’s a middle ground here. Some people spend too
much time “designing” and some don’t spend enough. How much time you need
to spend obviously depends on your experience level and knowledge of the
programming language being used. This is probably why Dave never needs to
design.
