Mac - hpricot problems

Oh no! Let me guess... you were running /usr/bin/ruby instead of
/usr/local/bin/ruby?

it looks like i was running the correct ruby.. i think the paths were
just all messed up when it came to finding all the pieces to the gem..

I was going to suggest that, but then I saw your Intel vs. PPC comments and
thought "Well, obviously, he's got a totally different problem than I
always run into"...

Ah, permissions.
I know your pain w/the optical drive, I did a replacement in an iBook G4 a few years back... pretty tough.

yeah!

there were no parts left connected that could be connected.. it was a
massacre.. but that 7200 rpm drive makes the powerbook run a whole lot
better..

and i now have a working optical drive..

whew!
