Hi all.
Sorry for the intrusion, but I thought someone here may be experiencing
the same thing I am or have an answer for me.
I have installed Fox 1.0.30 on Mac OS X 10.2.3. I have also installed
the beta X11 from Apple and the latest fink tools.
Now for the weird part, all of the fox tests run except for hello and
hello2. These are the simplest of the test apps and it’s puzzling why
they give a bus error when the other apps run fine.
I checked some info at http://www.fifthplanet.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Mac_OS_X
and found where they suggest that maybe the fink graphic libraries
were bad. So I installed the packages that that page pointed to and
recompiled fox. Same problem.
So, from this I suspect that the fink libraries are ok. I have read
that there could be a problem with Apple’s malloc, but I don’t know for
sure.
Has anyone had this experience? I have not yet moved forward to test
FXRuby or FreeRide, but my suspicion is that they work.
If you have FreeRide installed and running on Mac OS X 10.2.3, can you
test your fox/tests/(hello & hello2) apps and report if they work or
not?
Or, if you have run across this problem and found a solution, I would be
glad to know.
Thanks
