Excellent Ruby refactoring articles on rubyist magazine -- Also, does nyone know license of code on site?

The site http://jp.rubyist.net/magazine has an ongoing code analysis and
correction series. For example, issue 13 has a DBF file reader and writer
library that is analyzed
and made more ruby like. Here is the translation link that I used to read
the file:
