Elseif?

  1. I think the original thread ask for an inclusion of “elseif”, so that
users may just preferably enter “elsif” or “elseif” according to taste…
There is no mention of abolition of anything…

  2. I think this (ruby & anything w it) is still a democracy (contrary to
what others imply) for the ff reasons: a. Ruby is release to open/public, b.
This list was created (so everyone can voice opininon and be heard), c.
Everyone reasons out including the author himself.

  3. The “elseif” issue (if there is one) isn’t really big/important. Maybe
someone can post in wiki “Wishes that would never come true (in Ruby)”.

kind regards,

1. Take a look at the Linux kernel dev list: not really democratic !!! Linus is a "benevolent dictator", he takes decisions quick and the whole project move forward.
  1. Now think about democracy at work, like for example ISO standard
organization. After 10 years (or so), you have… C++

So, in and only in the context of Open Source projects, it seems that
a good and strong dictator is a feature. Once He voiced His opinions, better
move forward.

Hi –

  1. I think this (ruby & anything w it) is still a democracy (contrary to

Democracy means ruling, not voicing an opinion  Ruby is a “gentle
dictatorship.” From ruby-talk:5544:

I chose the 'gentle dictator' model.

Hmmm. How about posting more tutorials and useful code and ideas for
Ruby advocacy instead?
