Hi, all.
Trying to grab Rubicon from CVS.
At the moment, I’m on Linux.
I’ll try it later on Windows (and I’ve
done it successfully in the past, but
I’ve recently discovered I’m not using
the best client software there).
CVS doesn’t fit neatly inside my head,
and I’m always forgetting how to use it.
What I’m doing is:
export CVSROOT=cvs.ruby-lang.org/src
cvs co rubicon
and it tells me:
helium.ruby-lang.org: Connection refused
cvs [checkout aborted]: End of file from server
(consult above messages if any)
FWIW, I can certainly ping cvs.ruby-lang.org
(and as I said, I’ve done checkouts on Windows
before).
Can someone assist?
Thanks,
Hal

You need:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.ruby-lang.org:/src
cvs login
cvs co rubicon

You need:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.ruby-lang.org:/src
cvs login
cvs co rubicon
Are you sure that’s what you want to do? This is a bang method, so it will
modify forehead, possibly for the worse.

Consider the alternative… do you think he needs two Forehead(s)?
Garbage collection could be painful, too.
