I have just reimplemented MIME::Types for Perl (1.003) in Ruby. I
have kept the Perl version numbering scheme because it is my
intention to keep up with the versions of that library inasmuch as
the changes reflect MIME entity type changes rather than changes to
the underlying Perlisms.
If you are familiar with MIME::Types for Perl, this is NOT an
API-compatible port – this is a Ruby implementation of the library.

Note that if you wish to generate the documentation from this library
(you shouldn’t need to; I have already done so), you should use the
CVS HEAD version of rdoc – there are some new, experimental features
used in the documentation for this package.
