Access blocked to RubyForge for 203.123.134.34

Hey folks,

The RubyForge team just wanted to say that this IP address:

203.123.134.34

Has been blocked from HTTP access due to the fact that whoever’s IP
that is was continually downloading FreeRIDE (all six megs of it)
starting this morning at 6am (EST) and had downloaded it 215 or so
times.

If this is your IP address, please do not do that, if effects the whole
communities ability to use a shared resource (bandwidth is not THAT
cheep ;-).

If you want your IP address reactivated, let us know.

Best,

The RubyForge team

I am on Windows XP and behind a router and when I do

c:> ipconfig /all

I get (among other details):

    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.48

How do I know what my I/P address is as seen by the outside world ?

Not that I downloaded FreeRIDE, 215 times ;-),
but if what my computer is hacked ?

Just try to download FreeRIDE to if you succeed.

Mark,

Test your link first. Your link isn’t a good one. =)It takes you to a
offshoot search engine. Go here to find your ip address.

Hmmm. I did test it before I sent it off. And I tested it again right
now. Works fine for me. Perhaps you typed the url in your browser?
Perhaps you typed in www.whatsmyip.com instead of www.whatismyip.com
(two "i"s)? The first one is one of those @!#$% fake search engines.
The second will tell you your ip address.

I made the that mistake when I was checking what you said… I was very
confused for a bit, since clicking the link in the email gave me the
right page, but when I typed it in in a lynx session on a remote host,
I got a cheezy portal site. I took me a bit to notice my typo. Very
subtle.
