A Ruby Cellular Interface for Motorola T720

I recently purchased a Motorola T720 Cellular phone and the StartFish
(TrueSync Plus) software that supports it, and the USB cable for the phone.
The only reason why I bought the software was to synchronize my telephone
list, which I maintain on my laptop in a flat, ASCII (text) file with the
T720.
Unfortunately I found, after I opened the software, that it only supports
synching via Lotus Notes or MS Outlook.
Since I don’t keep my phone contact list in my Lotus Notes, I have been
looking for a way to do what I want.
So, since I can’t find any software to synchronize my flat, ASCII (text)
phone list with the T720, I thought about writing my own in Ruby.
The first problem I found is that I cannot get the technical specification
for the phone. I wrote several notes to Motorola and got no replies.
I know that Motorola provides a Java interface for the T720, but I think
this is a nice project for Ruby. Beside, my Java skills are scarce anyway.
Or, perhaps someone has already written something in Ruby that I can use.
Any thoughts?

Victor,
I work for Motorola (and I am a rubyist). It just so happens that
Motorola have announced a wireless developer programme in the past day
or two, that seems to be free (as far as I can tell). Try going to the
Motocoder site (http://kb.motorola.metrowerks.com/motorola/pcsHome.do),
and seeing what you find there. I will also see if I can email someone
to point up your post, and see if that helps.

Best regards,
Steve
